Therapeutic Cuddling

Relational healing through platonic touch

SZ4A4559_edited.jpg

What's the true story on how you’re doing, fellow human?  Are stress, disconnection, illness, marginalization, and/or trauma affecting your life?  Are you drawn to experiencing ease, comfort, and platonic touch in a setting where your whole self and your lived experiences are honored?  Come cuddle with me in the ways that bring you healing and connection, human to human.  My aim is to meet you where you’re at on this life journey and offer you compassion and tenderness along the way.  I’m a certified Cuddlist and I bring all of my empathy, care, and warmth to every cuddle session.

I’m Jennifer, a middle-aged human with a diverse array of life experiences.  I’m a mother (of a teenager and two cats), forager of wild foods, writer, tree hugger, queer, neurospicy, relationship anarchist, communitarian, and embracer of expansive kinship.  Most of my personal and professional paths have led me to be especially committed to supporting people who are marginalized in some way(s) and/or resisting default social expectations.

It's my belief that we experience healing relationally, and one way that can happen is through safe, consensual, physical touch.

What to Expect

When you first reach out (either via the contact form at the bottom of this page or through Cuddlist.com), you can expect a response from me within 24-48 hours by email.  I will send you the Cuddlist Code of Conduct and invite you to schedule a video call with me so we can jointly determine if we are a good fit.  I’ll ask you some questions and you are always welcome to ask me questions as well.

If we decide to move forward, we’ll schedule our initial cuddle session.  I’m available at my cozy, comfortable Minneapolis office Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm.  If these hours don't work for you, feel free to inquire about my potential availability at other times. The office is in a beautiful old building which contains the offices of other wellness practitioners in addition to mine.  It’s close to Eat Street and the Minneapolis Institute of Art.  The building has parking as well as a ramp to the front door.  My office is on the first floor.  The bathroom is not ADA accessible; please let me know if you have accessibility needs and we can discuss other arrangements.  The closest public transportation is Metro Transit bus routes 2, 11, 17, and 18.

I am also available to meet in a public setting such as a park or cafe in the Twin Cities metro area.

During cuddle sessions, we will start with an Opening Agreement each time.  I’ll be supporting you in discerning what your wants, needs, and desires are for the session and encouraging clear communication about comfort, discomfort, and boundaries.

Deposit and cancellation policy: To book your session, a non-refundable deposit of $30 is required and will be applied towards the cost of your session.  Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel a session.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is cuddle therapy?

As stated by Cuddlist, the training program through which I became certified as a cuddle professional:

Cuddle Therapy is a therapeutic modality that gives clients access to platonic touch through boundaries and consent education to provide validation, support, and nurturing.
This modality is unique in that it is about building connection and secure attachment through reciprocal communication and mutual experience. Put plainly, people feel the most connected, trusted, and seen when they can comfortably cuddle and our practitioners create the environment for that.

Can I receive cuddling and coaching services from you at the same time?

Cuddling and coaching are two separate modalities that I provide.  You are welcome to book separate appointments for these modalities, but I don't offer them at the same time.  Cuddle sessions are oriented around touch-based healing and incorporate discussion of boundaries and consent.  Coaching sessions do not include touch and are oriented around exploring your goals and values, increasing your self-understanding, and supporting you in taking steps towards your overall vision for your life.
